Who will ensure the publications are valid and up to date?
The CCTLR.
National Airspace System (NAS)
The common network of U.S airspace; air navigation facilities, equipment and services, airports or landing areas, etc The NAS is every person and everything required to successfully get a plane from one location to another.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)
The national aviaton authority. Regulates and oversees the NAS and has sole responsibility for developing and maintaining a common civil-military system of air navigation and air traffic control.
OJT
The purpose of training in the ATC career field is to qualify air traffic controllers for position certifications and facility ratings. Every time you pcs.
How many ARTCC are there?
There are 22 which are also divided into sectors.
What is the FAA's primary objective?
To ensure the safe and efficient is of navigable airspace.
What is the main task of the Air Traffic Control Tower?
Tower controllers authorize aircraft to land or takeoff at the airport controlled by the tower, or to transit the Class D airspace area regardless of flight plan or weather conditions (IFR or VFR) The tower clears arriving aircraft to land and departing aircraft for takeoff.
AFI 13-204v3
Training guidelines, trainees will be assigned a trainer to guide and mentor them throughout the training.
Operating instructions OI
regulate and standardize operational and administrative practices within a facility
Local Operating Procedures
local operating procedures are regulatory guidance describing local airport operations published as required by AFI 13 - 204v3. Lops are for your airport only.
Requirements to be eligible

Apprentice/Trainee
3 Skill level, Trains to obtain a facility rating.
Rated Controller
5 Skill level Controls and regulates enroute and terminal air traffic. Initiates and issues ATC clearances, instructions and advisories.
Watch Supervisor (WS)
7 Skill level. Mantains situational awareness of the overall flow or air traffic operations at the facility assigned, supervises ATC functions.
Chief Controller (CCTLR)
9 or 7 skill level. Manages the internal operation of the air traffic facility. Direct supervision of personnel assigned.
Air Traffic Control Tower
A terminal ATC facility,USAF or FAA, that uses air/ground communications, visual signaling, and other devices to provide ATC services to aircraft operating in the vicinity of an airport or on the movement area.
Radar Approach Control (RAPCON)
A terminal USAD ATC facility that uses radar and non radar capabilities to provide approach control services to aircraft arriving, departing, or transiting airspace controlled by the facility. Radar controllers monitor departing aircraft and aircraft making instrument approaches using other navaids. Releases and/or accepts aircraft to and/or from other enroute or terminal ATC facilities.
