Architecture: not known for its size plain exteriors made of brick & concrete. Provocative colors, brick , and marble. Small domes, interiors are marked w colored marble. Mosaics domes are low & vertical emphasis on interior arches.

Characterized by dramatic use of light, bold colors, value contrasts , emotionalism. European, from 17th to 18th century.

Emphasized order, clarity, and restraint. Western movement in painting, sculpture & architecture of late 18th century that looked to Ancient Greece and Rome for inspiration.
Italian Renaissance
Gothic, wood working, illuminated manuscripts, tapestries, and furnishings. Stain glass windows, oil paint. Art hub was in Flanders. Domestic interiors, simple everyday life with attention in detail and color.
Renaissance
