Be memorable - metaphors, analogies, surpass, have a structure = path and destination, don't waste the opening = share a shocking fact/statistic, tell a humorous anecdote related to you idea, strike the right tone for audience, inform, motivate, challenge or entertain, spirit, humanize yourself, repeat yourself, use transitions, include theatrics, end strong - (recap, tie everything together), and keep it short

Formulate a Speech Outline
Research: WHO you're speaking to, PURPOSE of the speech, HOW long you're speaking for, and MAIN ideas ranked in the order you're going to present
Preparation
decide on topic, consider audience and refine topic for them, decide on purpose of speech, choose an organizational method to support your speech purpose
Introduction
greeting and attention grabber, define thesis statement (summarize what your speech about), establish your credibility, and overview and the benefit to the audience
Conclusion
summary of main points, closure/call to action
Body
transition or link between introduction and body, main ideas with supporting ones, and examples and details
