Ethical public speaking is audience centered always taking into account the needs and rights of the listeners. Free speech is legally protected speech of speech acts. Ethics are the beliefs, values, and moral principles by which people determine what is right and wrong.

What does it mean to be an ethical listener?

To demonstrate a willingness to listen to opposing viewpoints and learn about different beliefs and values.

What obligations do you have as an audience member to the speaker?

While the speaker speaks, we must listen first before deciding to accept or reject the speaker's ideas. It is also important to comment or give our opinion in polite ways.
