Thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH)
promotes and maintains the normal growth and development of he thyroid gland and stimulates the secretions of the hormones thyroid hormones
Pituitary glands function
secretes hormones that control the functions of other glands.
Luteinizing hormone (LH)
stimulates female ovulation and the secretion testosterone (male sex hormone) in the male.

Antidiuretic hormone (ADH),
also called vasopressin, decreases the excretion of large amounts of urine from the body by increasing the reabsorption of water by the renal tubules (Thus helping maintain the bodies water balance)
Lactogenic hormone (LTH),
also known as prolactin, promotes the development of breasts and stimulates breasts after delivery of the baby
Growth hormone (GH),
also known somatotropic hormone (STH), regulates the growth of bone, muscle, and body tissues.
Melanocyte-stimulating hormone (MSH)
controls the intensity of pigmentation in pigmented cells of the skin.
Adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH)
stimulates the normal growth an development of the adrenal cortex and the secretion of corticosteroids (prima cortisol, corticosterone, and aldosterone).
Follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH)
stimulates the secretion of estrogen and the of eggs (ova) in the female ovaries; also stimulates production of sperm in the male testes.
