Direct Instruction or lecture Method

Aimed at helping students acquire procedural knowledge.

In this approach, the teacher tells or shows or demonstrates what is to be taught.

Project Method

In this method, the students solve a practical problem over period of several days or weeks.

Inquiry Method

Providing students opportunities to explore, inquire and discover new learnings.

Teaching Approach

Set of principles, beliefs or ideas about the nature of learning which is translated into the classroom

Reflective Teaching

Students/teachers learn through an analysis and evaluation of past experiences.

Subject-mattered Approach

Subject-matter gains primacy over that of the learner. Sticking to course syllabus or lesson plan is the priority of this approach.

Guided Approach

Teacher guides the learner to discover things.

Teacher is perceived to be the only reliable source of info.

Deductive Method

Teacher tells/shows directly what he/she wants to teach.

Problem-solving method

Teaching strategy that employs the scientific method in searching for information.

Learner-Centered Approach

The learner is also an important resource because he/she too knows something and is therefore capable of sharing something.

Whole child Approach

The learning process itself takes into account not only the academic needs of the learners but also their emotional, creative, psychological and spiritual needs.

Demonstration Method

The teacher or an assigned student or group shows how a process is done while the students become observers.

Problem-based Approach

The teacher-learning process is focused on the problems.

Metacognitive Approach

The teaching process brings the learner to the process of thinking about thinking.

Integrated Teaching Approach

This approach makes the teacher connects what he/she teaches to other lessons of the same subject.

Collaborative Approach

This approach welcomes group work, team work, partnerships and group discussions.

Teaching technique

Well-defined procedure used to accomplish a specific activity or task.

Blended Learning

a learning facilitated by the effective combination of different modes of delivery.
