incomplete tetanus is produced by
20-40 stimuli per second
wave summation
results from one wave of contraction added to another
temporal summation
results from two stimuli arriving close together
with wave summation, each twitch reaches
a higher level of tension than the one before
with incomplete tetanus, in between stimuli, the muscle relaxes
only partially
incomplete tetanus happens when each new stimulus arrives before
the previous twitch is over
