"Every Marine is a rifleman" is one of the enduring principles that form the foundation from which Marines derive their ethos. Consequently, every Marine, officer or enlisted, receives basic infantry training. This course also provides information about the promotion system which will help Marines prepare for promotion through the rank of sergeant.
