In Spanish, when using nationalities to describe a noun, you need to use the verb "ser." As you may remember, "estar" is used for temporary adjectives, such as emotions which change often; on the other hand, "ser" is used for nationalities because these are permanent and do not change.

Lastly, when a nationality ends on "o" for the masculine form, like with most other words, simply replace the "o" for an "a" to make it feminine.
