Rational Number

A number that can be written as a fraction

irrational number

A number that cannot be expressed as a ratio between two integers and is not an imaginary number. If written in decimal notation, an irrational number would have an infinite number of digits to the right of the decimal point, without repetition. Pi and the square root of 2 (√2) are irrational numbers. If written in a decimal notation it can not repeat and can not end.

All whole numbers (both positive and negative) and zero, not a fraction

An imaginary, number is any number that, when multiplied by itself, produces a negative number. Mathematicians use the letter "i" to symbolize the square root of -1. An imaginary number is any real number multiplied by i. For example, 5i is imaginary; the square of 5i is -25.
