- Also known as the multiplicative inverse. - Inverse of a fraction. - Any number multiplied by its reciprocal equals 1. - Example: 1/6 x 6/1 = 1

- Change any mixed number to improper fractions - Take reciprocal (invert/turn upside down) the second fraction (the one "divided by") - Multiply Fractions - Reduce to lowest term - Example: 15 divide 1 2/3 = ? 15 divide 1 2/3 = 15/1 divide 5/3 = ? 15/1 divide 5/3 = 15/1 x 3/5 = 45/5 = 9
