- Founded in 1971 in Canada. - HQ:Amsterdam since 1989 Greenpeace states its goal is to "ensure the ability of the Earth to take care of life in all its diversity and all issues regarding nature. EX: overfishing, nuclear-testing, - It uses direct action, lobbying, and research to achieve its goals.

- Operation NGOS: primarily concerned with development projects - Advocacy NGOS: primarily concerned with promoting a cause.
