Pathway of Blood Through the Heart
2nd step
Blood enters right atrium, which is the first chamber of the heart.
1st step
Blood enters the heart through the superior vena cava and interior vena cava.
8th step
Blood gets pushed out of left ventricle, and goes through the aorta into the rest of the body.
6th step
Blood goes into the right and left pulmonary veins, and into the left atrium.
7th step
From here, blood passes through mitral valve to get into the left ventricle.
3rd step
It then goes through the tricuspid valve, and into the right ventricle.
4th step
Right ventricle pushes blood into pulmonary valve, through either of the pulmonary arteries.
5th step
The pulmonary arteries empty blood into the lungs, to get oxygenated and rid of the carbon dioxide.
