Panel.

A collection of modules mechanically fastened together, wired, and designed to provide a field-installable unit

Module.

A complete, environmentally protected unit consisting of solar cells, optics, and other components, exclusive of tracker designed to generate dc power when exposed to sunlight.

Alternating-Current (ac) Module (Alternating-Current Pho- tovoltaic Module).

A complete, environmentally protected unit exclusive of tracker, consisting of solar cells, opties, inverter, and other components, designed to generate ac power when exposed to sunlight.

Bipolar Photovoltaic Array.

A de PV array that has two outputs, each having opposite polarity to a common reference point or center tap.

DC-to-DC Converter.

A device installed in the PV source circuit or PV output circuit that can provide an output de voltage and current at a higher or lower value than the input de voltage and current.

Direct-Current (de) Combiner.

A device used in the PV source and PV output circuits to combine two or more de circuit inputs and provide one de circuit output.

Array.

A mechanically integrated assembly of module(s) or panel(s) with a support structure and foundation, tracker. and other components, as required, to form a de or ac power- producing unit.

Electrical Production and Distribution Network.

A power production, distribution, and utilization system, such as a utility system and connected loads, that is external to and not controlled by the PV power system.

Stand-Alone System.

A solar PV system that supplies power independently of an electrical production and distribution network.

Photovoltaic Power Source.

An array or aggregate of arrays that generates de power at system voltage and current.

Subarray.

An electrical subset of a PV array.

Photovoltaic System DC Circuit.

Any de conductor supplied by a PV power source, including PV source circuits, PV output circuits, de-to-de converter source circuits, or dc-to-dc converter output circuits.

DC-to-DC Converter Output Circuit.

Circuit conductors between the de-to-de converter source circuit(s) and the inverter or de utilization equipment.

Photovoltaic Output Circuit.

Circuit conductors between the pv source circuits and the inverter or dc utilization equipment.

N DC-to-DC Converter Source Circuit.

Photovoltaic Source Circuit.

Circuits between modules from modules to the common connection point(s) of the de system.

Inverter Output Circuit.

Conductors connected to the ac output of an inverter.

Inverter Input Circuit.

Conductors connected to the de input of an inverter.

absorb stage

Controller reaches a certain level of charge around 80%-90% then start to raise voltage to lower amps, until 100% Float stage.

Energy

Energy is power multiplied by time. Energy is used in KWh, which is used to be charged by the Utilities.

Multimode Inverter.

Equipment having the capabilities of both the interactive inverter and the stand-alone inverter.

Inverter.

Equipment that is used to change voltage level or waveform, or both, of electrical energy. Commonly, an inverter [also known as a power conditioning unit (PCU) or power con- version system (PCS)] is a device that changes dec input to an ac alternating current from another source and convert it into direct output, Inverters may also function as battery chargers that use current for charging batteries.

Diversion Charge Controller.

Equipment that regulates the charging process of a battery by diverting power from energy storage to direct-current or alternating-current loads or to an interconnected utility service.

Bulk Charging - Setting Range

Max amperage that can be inputted into the Battery then will slowly increase the voltage when above a certain charge percentage of battery.

Monopole Subarray.

Subarray that has two conductors in the output circuit, one positive and one negative. Two monopoles pv subarray are used to form a bipolar pv array.

Solar Cell.

The basic PV device that generates electricity when exposed to light.

Interactive Inverter Output Circuit.

The conductors between the interactive inverter and the service equipment or another electrical power production and distribution network.

N Generating Capacity.

The sum of parallel-connected inverter maximum continuous output power at 40°C in kilowatts.

Feed-In Tariff

a type of Performance Based Incentives (PBI). Government require the Utilities to Pay people for their Power overproduction (KWH's), Usually Describe in Interconnection Agreement

Float Stage

battery at 100% and contoller will drop voltage at preset voltage.
