Placeholder
a selection box that has a dashed line border and sizing handles that indicate that is is selected and ready to accept text. After entering text the placeholder then becomes a text object

Create new theme fonts
allows you to create a new font theme from scratch by using this dialog box
Content Placeholder
allows you to insert pictures, charts, and tables
View Tab
allows you to switch between views using the commands in the presentation views group
Cloud computing
allows you to take advantage of Microsoft Office Online apps to do your work in a virtual environment
Objects
any item that can be modified, such as a text box or image; these are also the building blocks that make up a presentation slide.
Insertion point
blinking vertical line that indicates where your text will appear when you are typing
PowerPoint presentations
can be displayed over the Internet; allows you to input files from a variety of sources; easy to rearrange slides when creating; possible to collaborate with a group using the Internet; by default, opens in Normal view; the planning process is an important part when considering the delivery location of your presentation
Slide layout
contains text and object placeholders that are arranged in a specific way on the slide.
Ribbon
organizes all of PowerPoint's primary commands; each set of primary command is identified by a tab; it is made up of tabs, buttons, and groups
Handouts
pages of your presentation that you print and distribute to your audience.
[Shift][Tab]
pressing these two keys at the same time will decrease the indent level
Internet Shared Workspace
this allows you to collaborate on a presentation with a group of colleagues through the Internet
Pure black-and-white printing
this allows you to print without any gray tones and can save printer toner
Hard copy printing
this allows you to print your presentation when you want to review your work or when you have completed it and want to have a paper copy.
AutoFit Options Button
this feature decreases the font size in order to fit the text in the placeholder when you are typing text
Clear message presentation
this is a presentation that reads like a story and is illustrated with appropriate visual aids and will have the greatest impact on your audience.
Quick Access Toolbar
this is always visible at the top of the PowerPoint window and is fully customizable.
Fair Use
this is an exception to copyright protection
New Slide Button
this is located in the Slides group on the Home tab
Zoom Slider
this is located on the status bar and allows you to zoom in or out on your slide
View Shortcuts button
this is located on the status bar at the bottom right of the PowerPoint window
Normal View
this is the default view that PowerPoint will open in; it is divided into two panes, Slide pane and Thumbnails pane
Inking
this is used to help emphasize content when giving a presentation
Thumbnails
this pane is located on the left-hand side in the normal view
Outline View
this view allows you to enter text on the slides in outline form; this view does not have a view shortcuts button on the status bar.
Slide sorter
this view displays thumbnails of all slides; use this view to rearrange and add special effects to your slides
Slide Show
this view displays your presentation on the whole computer screen
Backstage view
this view gives you the option of saving your presentation to your computer or to OneDrive
Live Preview
this will last about 1 minute and then your slide will revert back to its original state; allows you to preview the look of a design theme before actually using it
Copyright Infringement
unauthorized use of protected work, such as downloading a photo or a song from the web
Importing items
you can add photographs, numerical data, text, and facts into a presentation by doing this. You can also add files from Microsoft Word, Access, and Excel.
Themes
you can change these to fit your presentation and they can be found on the Design Tab; changes the overall look of the slides
