FRIENDS - Prov 11:14, Prov 1:5 (Seek godly counsel) 4. FACTS - Do your homework.. find and consider the available information. (Q. Is God's will always humanly logical? (Noah, Abraham etc)) 5. FLEECE - Gideon in Judges 6 (we all have probably tried this one in one way or another) 6. FATE - by this I mean the circumstances/situation. We often refer to these as open or closed doors.

4 key guidelines for making decisions

First - CONSULT GOD'S WORD Second - PRAY FOR GUIDANCE/WISDOM Third - SUBMIT MYSELF TO GOD Fourth - DETERMINE WHETHER THE OPTIONS ARE EQUALLY SPIRITUALLY EXPEDIENT.

Five Key Questions that define Worldview

Origin Identity Meaning Morality Destiny

involuntary euthanasia

Patient does not request their own death - someone else decides for them that they are better off dead. Usually when a patient is unable to communicate (coma) or unable to understand their condition.

Voluntary euthanasia

Patient requests their own death - either verbally, in writing (Some states will recognize testimony of family/friends, but not all)

A Christian approach to Homosexuality

Speak the Truth in love Homosexuality is a BEHAVIOR pattern that can be CHANGED HELP those who want to OVERCOME homosexuality

Eisenstadt v. Baird

Supreme Court that established the right of unmarried people to possess contraception on the same basis as married couples.

Sodom and Gomorrah

Dilation and Evacuation

Used between 12 and 24 weeks The child is cut to pieces by a sharp knife, as in D & C The child is much larger and far more developed The child weighs as much as a pound and is as much as a foot in length

Hysteronomy

Used in last trimester Baby removed as in a Cesarean birth Baby set aside and allowed to die or killed by a deliberate act

Suction & Aspiration

Used on 80% of abortions up to 12th week of pregnancy Mouth of the cervix is dilated Hollow tube with knifelike edged tip is inserted into the womb A suction machine with force 28 times greater than a vacuum cleaner literally rips the developing baby to pieces and sucks the remains into a container to be disposed

passive euthanasia

Withholding medical treatment or discontinuing treatment ..."letting die"...cause of death is the same as the condition causing the suffering (disease, respiratory failure, etc). Is this really Euthanasia? - This is not euthanasia as it is the condition (cancer, Heart attack, stroke etc) that was the cause of the death. Even when "pulling the plug" it is artificial mechanical treatment that is removed but the cause of death is the original condition.

Stronger Brother

one who participates in an ethical gray area in full assurance of his conscience because of his understanding of Christian freedom Note: This does not necessarily mean he is more mature in the faith than a weaker brother.

Griswald Vs. Connecticut

supreme Court in which the Court ruled that the Constitution of the United States protects the liberty of married couples to buy and use contraceptives without government restriction.
