Shareholders could gain profit the companies they invest in, and lose less money if that business were to fail. This made investing more attractive and less risky.

Unilever based in England and the Netherlands with operations in British west Africa and the Belgian Congo

This company was known for receiving palm oil from plantations, to supply resources that had been used by factories in places such as the U.S. and Australia.
