A medium shot

A Medium Shot is often used to introduce a character for the first time. A Medium Shot places the top of the frame just above the character's head and the bottom of the frame just below the waist.

Low angle shot

A camera shot from a low angle, looking up on the actions. This is often used to show the superiority of a character or characters.

close up shot

A shot in which a small detail or a face fills the frame, taken either by setting the camera close to the subject or by using a long focal-length lens. In relation to a human subject, close-up usually refers to a shot of the face alone although, of course, there may be close-ups of hands or feet, or any other part of the body.

An establishing shot

Wendy Stites says, "Truman Burbank is the only person on 'The Truman Show' that dresses himself- the others are all dressed by the wardrobe department of the television show - so I wanted his look to be a bit different, not quite as polished."

When the camera is moved horizontally from left to right or right to left

Tilting

a camera movement that scans a scene vertically
