The Paris Peace Accords
An agreement ending war and restoring peace in Vietnam. Us agreed to withdraw all troops in exchange of releasing all U.S. and other prisoners of war. Both sides agreed to the withdrawal of all troops from Laos and Cambodia. Agreed 17th parallel was the division line.

First prisoner in Hoa Lo was Lieutenant, Junior Grade Everett Alvarez Jr. Pows were in miserable conditions, poor food, and unsanitary conditions. Many times it was used by North Vietnam to house, torture, and interrogate captured men.
Vietnamization
President Richard Nixon made a policy named Vietnamization. It helped end U.S. involvement in the Vietnam War through a program to "expand, equip, and train South Vietnam's forces and assign to them an increasing combat role. At the same time Us troops would be reducing from South Vietnam

United States and South Vietnam made this operation to boost morale in Saigon Regime, to persuade North vietnam to cease its support for the communist insurgency, to destroy North Vietnam's transportation system, industrial base, and air defenses.
