Beaver Dams
After overhearing American officers talking about an impending attack on the British army, loyalist Laura Secord treks 30 miles to warn General Fitzgibbon. The Americans were defeated due to Laura Secord's efforts.
Sacking of York
British defenders were severely outnumbered by the American attackers. The British surrendered, and the American soldiers burned and sacked the city that is modern day Toronto.
Battle of Lundy's Lane
In one of the bloodiest battles of the war, the British army, their Aboriginal allies, and the Canadian army clashed with the American army near Niagara Falls. After both sides losing 900 men, the British army finally won, ending the American invasion of Canada.
Stoney Creek
In this night raid, 700 British soldiers attacked American troops. The defeat of the Americans made it so that the Western part of Ontario remained under control of the British.
Queenston Heights
It was the first and largest battle of the war. Although the British and Aboriginal alliance won, General Brock was killed.
Battle of the Thames
The Americans won this battle. Their victory enabled them to get control over the Northwest, which ended any hope of creating an Aboriginal homeland in the Old Northwest. Tecumseh is killed during the battle.
Battle of Lake Erie
This battle took place on Lake Erie. After a closely contested battle between the American and British Navies, Britain surrendered. The American victory gave America control over Lake Erie.
Battle of Chateauguay
This battle was caused by the Americans trying to gain control over the St. Lawrence River as well as Montreal. The American army was much larger than the British/Canadian/Aboriginal army, but when the battle ended, the British and their allies had won.
Chrysler's Farm
This battle was fought on a farmer's field. It was America's last attempt in capturing Montreal. The British managed to fend off the American troops and prevented America from claiming the St. Lawrence River and Montreal.
Battle of Chippawa
This battle was the first time that the Americans beat a similar sized army. The Americans, led by General Brown, took control of the British Fort Erie.
