Europe was more settled and peaceful after the invasions and stopped in the Early Middle Ages and food production increased because of the climate change, resulting in improved growing conditions.

Serfs were legally bound to the land because they worked 3 days a week on the lords land, and used the rest of the land to grow food fro themselves. Then, their landlords would tax them over all the produce they produced.

Some factors that helped the Vikings invade Europe successfully was that they were warriors, superb ship builders and sailors, the Viking dragon ship, and how their boats allowed them to sail through rivers and attack inland.

The parliament was a representative government that emerged. It was structures of town knights from every county, tow people from every town, and all the nobles and bishops throughout England.

The reign of Philip II Augustus was a turning point in the french monarchy because he expanded Frances income and power.
What role did guilds play in the economic life of towns and cities?
The role the guilds in the life of towns and cities was that they were a group of crafts people who could do almost every craft and these guilds were able to direct very aspect of the production process and determine the number of people in a certain trade.
What did William the Conqueror and Philip II Augustus have in common with Fredrick I and Fredrick II? How did they differ?
They all tried to expand their territory, increase their power, and make a name for themselves. The difference is that Fredrick I and II tried to win Italy over and got in trouble with the pope and the small northern villages. Eventually Germany was controlled by lords who took over after the kings were in Italy for so long.
What was the difference between a knight and a vassal?
Vassals serve for a lord and a knight fights in battles.
What were the effects of William of Normandy becoming ruler of England?
When William Normandy became the ruler of England it effected Europe by developing a system of taxation, royal courts begun by earlier Anglo-Sazon Kings, and became the sole king of Europe.
