Pharaoh Amenhotep IV (father of King Tut) tried to shift to monotheism. His son, King Tut, switched back to polytheism.

Sirius; the "Dog Star"
What did the Egyptians learn from tracking Sirius?
The Egyptians learned that the year lasted 365 days and created the 365-day calendar
