What are the 5 components of fitness?
Cardiovascular Endurance Muscular Strength Muscular Endurance Flexibility Body Composition
What is static stretching?
Stretches that require little/no movements (i.e hurdler stretch, butterfly stretch)
What is dynamic stretching?
Stretches that require lots of movement throughout a joints full range of motion (i.e. high knees, butt kicks, etc)
What is flexibility?
The ability of a joint to move throughout it's full range of motion (i.e. static stretching/dynamic stretching).
What is Cardiovascular Endurance?
The ability of the heart and lungs to work together to supply oxygen rich blood to working muscles (i.e. running, walking).
What is Muscular Endurance?
The ability of the muscle to endure continuous movements over a long period of time (i.e. cross-country skiing, swimming).
What is Muscular Strength?
The ability of the muscles to exert a force on a object in single movement (i.e. weight lifting, throwing the shot put).
What is Body Composition?
The various types of matter that your body is made up of such as fat vs. lean muscle mass.
