Algebra (SOLVING COMPOUND INEQUALITIES)

Lakukan tugas rumah & ujian kamu dengan baik sekarang menggunakan Quizwiz!

Solve 2x - 1 < 7 and 5x + 3 < 3.

{x | 0 < x < 4}

Solve 15 ≥ -3x or 2/5x ≥ -2.

{x | x ≥ -5}

Steps to solving a compound inequality:

1. Write the compound inequality as the union or intersection of inequalities. 2. Solve each inequality. 3. Take the union or intersection of the solution sets. Remember, it is impossible to "check" as with equations, but you can always "test" a number in the solution set to see if it works in the original problem.

Solve (4 - x ≤ -1) ∩ (2 + 3x ≥ 17). Click on the graph until the solution set appears.
