Sagebrush Rebellion 1970s
A sagebrush steppe in northeastern Nevada. The Sagebrush Rebellion was a movement during the 1970s and 1980s that sought major changes to federal land control, use and disposal policy in the American West where, in 13 western states, federal land holdings include between 20% and 85% of a state's area.
EPA (1970)
Born in the wake of elevated concern about environmental pollution, EPA was established on December 2, 1970 to consolidate in one agency a variety of federal research, monitoring, standard-setting and enforcement activities to ensure environmental protection. Since its inception, EPA has been working for a cleaner, healthier environment for the American people.

Soil Conservation Act (1935)
a United States federal law that allowed the government to pay farmers to reduce production so as to "conserve soil" and prevent erosion
CITIES 1975

Public Rangelands Improvement Act (1978)
defines the current grazing fee formula and establishes rangeland monitoring and inventory procedures for Bureau of Land Management and United States Forest Service rangelands.

Surface Mining Control and Reclamation Act (1977)
