What is AutoPatching? How does it work?

Auto-Patching is a setting that allows you to automatically patch tracks based on track activation. Enable/Disable Tracks. By using keyboard shortcuts to change the activation of your tracks, you can patch tracks without reaching for the mouse.

You try to remove an audio segment from the sequence, but the first time you hit delete, the segment remains in place. The second time, it is deleted as expected. Why?

Because there is already empty space, called filler, on the audio tracks, so it may not be obvious when you first use Lift/Overwrite tool.
