Content Folder
A content folder is a content container. Instructors can use folders and sub-folders to group related material, such as a "Week 1 Case Studies" folder inside the "Week 1 Assignments" folder.

Rich Text Editor
This is the tool for entering and formatting text and media into Blackboard. It is available in discussions, blogs, journals, assignments, tests, and wikis.
Global Navigation Menu
This menu lets you see all of your course and organization information in one place, such as calendar, grades, and course updates.
My Grades
This tool shows all of your submissions, graded assignments, and links to the assignment with feedback.
Discussion Thread
A chain of individual messages or comments relating to a common topic.
Item
An item is a piece of content such as a file, image, or text. Your instructor can include a description and attach files, images, video, and audio.
Discussion Forum
An online asynchronous conversation organized around one major topic.
Course Menu
Appears or hides on the left side of the screen when in a course, showing buttons to access all of the course content and tools
Assignment tool
Instructors use assignments to assess your mastery of course content and objectives. Your instructors often assign grades to assignments. Assignments require a written submission or a file upload.

Learning Module
A learning module is a content container. You navigate through the content from a table of contents. Your instructor can add all types of content, such as text, images, multimedia, assignments, and tests.
Discussions
This is where organized postings of comments from all class members occurs, organized by threads which can be created by the instructor or students.
