Squoval Nail?

Nail Clippers?

A reusable implement used to shorten the nail plate quickly and efficiently.

Metal Pusher?

A reusable implement, made of stainless steel; it should not be used to push back the eponychium but can be used to gently scrape cuticle tissue from the natural nial plate.

Round Nail?

A slightly tapered nail shape; it usually extends just a bit past the fingertip.

Nipper?

A stainless-steel implement used to carefully trim away dead skin around the nails.

Wooden Pusher?

A wooden stick used to remove cuticle tissue from the nail plate (by gently pushing), to clean under the free edge of the nail, or to apply products.

Describe the procedure for a paraffin wax hand treatment before a manicure.

1. check the hands open wounds, diseases, or disorders. 2. Apply mositurizing lotion or oil to clients hands and gently massage into the skin 3. test the temperature of the wax 4. place the palm facing down w/ the wrist slightly bent/ fingers straigh and slightly apart. 5. dip the fist hand in up to wrist for 3 sec. Rmove allow the wax to solid before dipping again. 6. repeat the dip process 3-5 times each hand 7. wrap hands in plastic wrap or mitts for 5-10 mins. 8. repeat steps 5-7 for other hand 9. to remove - peel away at wrist/ pull wax down to fingertips will collect into plastic cover. 10. dispose of used paraffin 11. begin manicuring procedure.

1. put gloves on/ inform client/ apologize then procees 2. aplly slight pressure to area with cotton to stop bleeding/ then clean with an antiseptic 3. Apply an adhesive bandage 4. Clean and disinfect the workstation. 5. Discard disposable implements by double bagging/ use a biohazard sticker 6. then fully immerse implements in epa registered hospital disinfectant 7. remove gloves and wash your hands before returning service.

Medium-Grit Abrasives?

180-240 grit abrasives that are used to smooth and refine surfaces and shorten natural nails.

Fine-Grit Abrasives?

240 grit and higher abrasives designed for buffing, polishing, and removing very fine scratches.
