Uruk was 1,000 acres and home to 40,000; Catalhoyuk 32 acres and housing 6,000. Uruk had a strong, well organized government, and Catalhoyuk had a simple one. Uruk had a complex economy while Catalhoyuk had a more simple one. Catalhoyuk's economy was based on farming, Uruk's farming AND trade.

Uruk had a wall around it, giving protection and signifying it was a wealthy, strong city worth protecting.

the soil remaining was fertile, good for crops but river flooding could damage crops

people could preserve information and all kinds of important things. Historians have learned from them. It defined the laws and religious beliefs

Th art reflects the society's beliefs and reminds them what is true and their culture. It can serve a function and marked an advanced civilization.

how to live a safer, nicer lifestyle, like roads and public baths and sewers

they were a center of religion, government, and culture. people could go to cities for religious activities, get to know politics and people, and do activities with others

Catalhoyuk's was simple. It was an early civilization, and theirs was based on farming. Uruk's was complex, based on farming and trade.
