I believe that 4K was inevitable, but Netflix certainly accelerated the trend.

A large portion of the population is "cutting the cord" moving away from television, cable, and DVDs. Big companies have taken notice and are getting in the ring to battle it out for online streaming supremacy. Companies like Disney.

Spotify continues to fight an uphill battle with its current platform. The company has admitted that bigger companies like Apple, Amazon, and Google have all the chips and Spotify has only been able to service by making deals undercutting listening streaming prices with music executives.

The latest home televisions are technically superior to theater screens. While theaters offer unique scale and community, they will need new image technology to keep their audience. Most theater screens are 2K at present. Since 2002, theater attendance has gone down and is currently at a 25 year low. There are a number of reasons we can attribute the lack of interest besides what I have already discussed. The lack of originals movies and franchise fatigue. If the film industry wants to change this current trend then they should see what's working and follow that trend. Diversity is one trend that is working. The want for "live" media and engagement in the new medium is growing. The cinematography is automated by the camera and the traditional aesthetics of filmmaking disappear. People are consuming media 24/7 and traditional mediums and Production Models cannot keep up. The automated cinematographer is one of the solutions.

This trend puts broadcast services in a tough spot because the price to upgrade the current pipeline to 4K is costly. The fear is that if Network news doesn't make the change quickly enough consumers will opt out for online streaming services leaving them in the pixelated past. Unlike virtual reality, which creates a totally artificial environment, augmented reality uses the existing environment and overlays new information on top of it. Some of the new devices that have taken on VR are PlayStation and Microsoft.

When discussing the media storytelling space and ambient environments, Alexa is a great example. The Alexa is a cloud service much like the Echo that is unlimited information by just asking for it. Like most new technology, Alexa can be used as a storytelling device in many ways. Trying to understand the limits between man and technology, a way to show a character's fears or simply being a source of evil in a horror flick. While many companies have promised to achieve a recommendation algorithm that gets it right, none have come close to the quality of Spotify's Discover Weekly list. It's hard to find a company these days that doesn't use some sort of recommendation algorithm. Apple and Google being the biggest.

You can't talk about seamlessly blending CG actors without talking about Rogue One, the first Star Wars. Rogue One brought Peter Cushing, the legendary British actor who played Grand Moff Tarkin in the original Star Wars and passed away in 1994, back from the dead. It was a huge achievement in CG but it also shows the limitation with his stiff movements. This isn't the first time we've seen deceased actors return to the screen. Oliver Reed's face was digitally reconstructed for Gladiator in 2000 after his death, and most recently Paul Walker was digitally revived in Furious 7. We've seen the likes of Audrey Hepburn and Bruce Lee brought back in commercials.

because of the cost to transmit the data-heavy signal. So the future is looking brighter but the extinction of 1080p is far in the future.

in March 2018, there are three things Spotify is looking to the future to stay on top. Continue to know their costumers better than the competition, create a record label and start selling its own hardware.
What were other problems?
the standardization for 3D glasses. Some companies went with polarization to get the 3D effect while others used the active shutter method. Neither glasses worked with other TV setups. There was also an extra cost to get the true 3D experience at home.
