Steering wheel
A driving wheel that controls the vehicle.
Parking brake light
A mechanically operated brake that may be set for parking the vehicle.
Odometer
A meter that shows mileage traversed.
Side view mirror
A mirror that sticks out from the side of a vehicle and allows the driver to see behind the vehicle
Cruise control
A vehicle feature that allows a driver to maintain a desired speed without manually pressing the accelerator; intended for highway driving.
Speedometer
An instrument for measuring speed; tachometer.
Power windows
Automobile windows which can be raised and lowered by depressing a button or switch, as opposed to using a hand-turned crank handle.
Windshield wipers
Clears the rain from the windshield so you can see through it.
4 wheel drive
Contains the driveshaft, transaxel, and front-back differental.
Front defrost
Defrosts front windows.
Rear defrost
Defrosts rear windows.
Front windshield washer
Electricall-operated controlled by WASHER switch in the front of the vehicle.
Rear Windshield washer
Electricall-operated controlled by WASHER switch. (6 quart reservoir and pump in electronics compartment)
Parking break warning light
If the light is on pressure is applied to the breaks.
Gear shift
In a car, is the handle that a driver moves to control how hard the engine works and how quickly the car is moving.
Tachometer
Instrument in a vehicle the measures revolutions per minute; rp.
Check engine
It means your car's computer system needs checking.
accelerator pedal
Pushing down on it increases the vehicle's speed. Releasing it reduces the vehicle's speed. It is located to the right of the foot-brake pedal.
Air bag warning light
Tells you if the air bags are in proper working condition.
Brake pedal
This applies pressure to the master cylinder, which sends pressure (and brake fluid) through the break lines.
Clutch pedal
This device allows the driver to change gears when driving a stickshift vehicle.
Head restraint
This padded safety device helps reduce whiplash injuries in a collision.
Brake warning light
This serves two puproses, remind you to release the parking brake or that something is wrong with the brake.
High beams
Used when no other traffic is around, Look toward white lines when approaching vehicles have high beams on.
Emergency lights
Used when your vehicle breaks down, so other drivers can see it. Also use them to warn drivers behind you about a traffic accident or hazard.
