They are related because without one of them, nothing will work effectively

Specific: goal usually answer the 5 W's (what, why, who, where and which) identify what you want to accomplish Measurable: if goal isn't measurable there will be no way to know if you're making progress Attainable: goal must be something that you can realistically do Relevant: if goal doesn't mean anything to you, then it's not worth pursuing Time bound: putting down a deadline makes you more committed to bringing it to fruition My own goal is time bound: it's important to me because, it fits into everything in my life, academic, life, education, etc... it also fits into the other SMART goals

Define the components of the SMART goal model

Specific: goal will usually answer 5 W's ( what, why, who, where and which) writing this out can easily identify what you want to accomplish Measurable: if not measurable there will be no way to know if you're making progress Attainable: your goal must be something that you can easily realistically attain Relevant: tie your goals to your deeper values to give them more meaning Time bound: need to have a deadline otherwise it's just a Dream
