whip pan
An extremely fast movement of the camera from side to side, which briefly causes the image to blur into a set of indistinct horizontal streaks.
long shot
A framing in which the scale of the object shown is small; a standing human figure would appear nearly the height of the screen. Shot from far away
Medium shot
A relatively close shot, revealing the human figure from the knees or waist up. About 1/2 of the person.
Shot reverse shot
A standard shot pattern that dictates that a shot of one character will be followed by a shot of another character, taken from the reverse angle of the first shot. "Conversation shot"
