An academic paper is when one writes a response to a text that discusses an issue you don't know much about or that you may not have a strong opinion of yet.
Why is argumentation important to Christians?
As Christians we need to be ready to defend the Word of God with a solid argument. Knowing how to argue scholarly is very important to the Christian walk.

Builds from question of fact and asks "what is it?" Or "how can it be classified?"

Consider MLK's use of 1st and 2nd person
MLK uses 1st and 2nd to show the personal side of the letter since he is addressing the clergymen. This also show his ethos since he personally experienced some of these things he wrote.

The purpose of an argument is to accomplish making a clear argument for what you believe
Examples and references of MLK's uses and the purpose behind them
Uses an example of the police dogs attacking his people, police officers pushing and cursing negro women and children. This is to show that the police were not calm about this. Another example is hitler to show that what he did was legal but not right.
