Kidneys b.

About 60% (or more) of your body contains water.

Process of how liquid waster is removed from body 1.

Ammonia ( waste product) is carried by the blood to liver

Process of how liquid waster is removed from body 4.

As blood flows through the capillaries in the kidneys, urea and water diffuse into tubes called nephrons ( the filtering units of the kidney). The bulb-like upper portion of the nephrons filters water, urea, protein by-product, salts, glucose, amino acids, bile ( liver), and other trace substances. As the substances flow through a long looped tubule, many substances are reabsorbed into the blood to be re-used. THe other materials ( waste) remain behind to be excreted as white in the urine.

Process of how liquid waster is removed from body 3.

From the liver, urea is carried by the blood to the kidneys ( located behind the liver and stomach).

Other ways of removing waste 1.

Gas is roved from body by the repertory system. a. carbon dioxide is released from the body through the lungs b. water vapor is another waste product gives off by the lungs

Process of how liquid waster is removed from body 2.

In the liver, ammonia, nitrogen, oxygen, and carbon are changed to urea.

Kidneys a.

Lima bean shaped organs located in the small of the back, approximately 10cm in length.

Other ways of removing waste 2.

Liquid wastes are also removed by sweating. a. Sweat is a salty liquid that evaporates from the skin. The skin also has hair, nails, oil, and sweat glands. The nails and hair are forms of the skins dead cells. The sweat glands are coiled up into tubes that are in the dermis and it connects to pores, or openings, and in the surface of the skin. b. The sweat glands can help the body get rid of excess water, salts, and waste such as the urea. The materials form a liquid called perspiration or known as sweat. When your body perspires, it is then able to help your body temperature to cool off. This can happen because as perspiration evaporates from the skin and then the body is cooled.

Large intestine-

Removes excess water from food not digested through the anus

What's the purpose of the excretory system?

The purpose of the excretory system is to collect and remove various waste products from the body through the blood.

Skin-

The skin plays a major role in excretion. It helps the body get rid of excess water, salts and waste, such as urea. The skin can sometimes be thought as the most largest organ of the human body. The skin covers an area of more than 1.5 to 2 square meters in an average person. The skin is about 4 millimeters deep down. The two major layers of the skin are the epidermis and the dermis.

Process of how liquid waster is removed from body 6.

The ureters empty into a muscular organ called the bladder. THe bladder is full ( 1 pint), urine leaves the body through a channel called the urethra.

Process of how liquid waster is removed from body 5.

Urine, which is urea and water, flows from the kidneys through tubes called ureters . Ureters are 25-30 cm long ( 10-12 inches).

Liver-

acts as a filter for the blood. It cleans out toxic/poisonous waste and acid in the blood.

Lungs-

carbon dioxide/water vapor are released from the body

Renal artery-

delivers blood (1700 liters/450 gallons) to kidneys every day. Kidneys filter blood and return to heart via renal vein.

Dermis-

is the inner layer of the skin, it is a lot thicker than the epidermis.

Epidermis-

is the outer layer of skin.
