Masculine Urethra

Structure: 16-22cm The male urethra is a narrow fibromuscular tube that conducts urine and semen from the bladder and ejaculatory ducts, respectively, to the exterior of the body. Although the male urethra is a single structure, it is composed of a heterogeneous series of segments: prostatic, membranous, and spongy. Function: The urethra transports urine from the bladder to the outside of the body.

Penis

Structure: The penis includes three cylindrical spaces (blood-filled sinuses) of erectile tissue. The two larger ones, the corpora cavernosa, lie side by side. The third sinus, the corpus spongiosum, surrounds most of the urethra. When these spaces fill with blood, the penis becomes large and rigid (erect). Functions: The penis is the male sex organ, reaching its full size during puberty. In addition to its sexual function, the penis acts as a conduit for urine to leave the body.

Scrotum

Structure: The scrotum is a thin external sac that is located under the penis and is composed of skin and smooth muscle. This sac is divided into two compartments by the scrotal septum. ... The structures contained in the scrotal sac are the external spermatic fascia, testes, epididymis, and spermatic cord. Functions: The bag of skin that holds and helps to protect the testicles.
