Give their vote to the state; Citizens tell them the candidate they want, but they sometimes choose the candidate they want for themselves

Half the states have the same primary or caucus votes date

What do Super Delegates do?

Make final decision on the presidential candidate - They also represent the current party established and can vote for whom ever they want - represent the best interest of the party

Who Votes When; Iowa

New Hampshire allows Iowa to vote first because Iowa is a caucus state

How long does the Presidential Primary process take

Over the course of a year the staes, D.C, the territories, and Americans aboard hold their primaries or Caucuses

Private voting; People go in polls and vote; States can change dates for their primaries

Caucus

Public Voting; People gather in a public location and debate against another for their candidate of chose. The candidate with the latest group of people wins.

Vote; Closed Primary

Registered members of party; can't vote if you're registered as independent

What happens at the National Convention?

The official vote to select the party's nominee for president happens
