Christianity and Judaism are alike because both of them are monotheistic, they follow the 10 Commandments, and how some people rest on the Sabbath. Some differences are how we don't celebrate Hanukkah and we don't use the Torah and Talmud.

I think the most important person and event was Moses and the 10 Commandments, because Moses played a big role in God's plan like leading the Israelites out of Egypt. The 10 Commandments were important because the Israelites starting worshipping God and having faith in him.

Jewish ideas that are observed in modern Western society are monotheism, the 10 Commandments, and how some people rest on the Sabbath. It was also the base of Islam and Christianity.

Compare and contrast Saul, David, and Solomon.

Some similarities between them are they were all kings and they were all Hebrew. Some differences are David and Solomon were well respected by everyone, but Saul wasn't well respected by religious and tribal leaders. Also, Saul wasn't as strong as a leader as David and Solomon.

What are the various sacred Jewish texts, and what do they contain?

The Jewish texts were the Torah, Talmud, and the Tanakh or Hebrew Bible. The Torah was a set of the first 5 books of the Old Testament, the most sacred text, and contains a history of Moses and the Jews. The Talmud is a set of commentaries. The Tanakh, or Hebrew Bible, has a history of the Jews.

What happened as a result of tensions between the Romans and the Jews?

The Jews and a group called the Zealots revolted against the Romans and were defeated when the Romans burned down the Second Temple, so most of the Jews lost their will to fight, but 1,000 Zealots hid in Masada, a mountain fortress, but was conquered by a group of 15,000 Roman soldiers. Some Zealots even killed themselves instead of being Roman slaves.

What are the basic beliefs of Judaism?

The basic beliefs of Judaism is monotheism, education, study, and righteous behavior, like justice and obedience. Their belief is in Yahweh (YHWH).

How did Abraham and Moses shape the history of the Jews?

They shaped the history of the Jews by leading the Israelites out of Egypt, bringing the 10 commandments and by doing that the Israelites agreed to worshipping only God, and leading them to Canaan. Abraham showed faith when he left his home and tried to lead the Israelites out of Egypt. Moses showed faith when he took his people on the Exodus.

Compare and contrast the two main cultural traditions of the Jews after the Diaspora.

Two main cultural events are the High Holy Days and the Passover. The High Holy Days and the Passover are similar because both of them had a ceremony and they both represented something and they both helped the Jews feel connected to their ancestors, Some differences are that the High Holy Days helped the Jews fell connected to their ancestors like Abraham and Moses, but the Passover helped the Jews feel connected to the Exodus.
