Brown v. Board of Education

Desegregated public schools so that African Americans could study with white students.

March on Washington

Led by Martin Luther King Jr., it was the largest demonstration in support of laws for equal rights. Took place in Washington, D.C.

Civil Rights Act of 1964

Made discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin, among other factors, unlawful.
