Interview Questions for School Secretary Role

What is one of your biggest weaknesses and what are you doing to improve on it?

One of my weaknesses is that I can be a bit of a perfectionist. I like things to be done the right way, and sometimes I can spend too much time double-checking my work or trying to make sure everything is just right. I've been working on trusting my first instincts more and reminding myself that it's okay to ask for help or move on when something is good enough.

Why do you want this role?

I want this role because I enjoy working in a supportive position where I can stay organized and help people throughout the day. Being in a school setting feels like a great fit for me. I'd get to help the staff, parents, and students while keeping things running behind the scenes, which is something I'm good at and genuinely enjoy.

What is one of your biggest strengths that could help you as a school secretary?

My biggest strength is being able to remain calm in a fast-paced environment. I've worked in high-pressure environments where people depend on me to get a task completed. being a reliable individual is something I take pride in.

Tell me about yourself

Sure! Over the years, I've worked in customer service, security, and the military. I'm currently finishing up my degree in Recreation and Park Management, which I'll complete this August. Before I left for Air Force basic training, I spent about six months working in childcare at my local YMCA, and I really enjoyed being around kids. Now, I'm going on six years in the military, where I serve as a Staff Sergeant in Security Forces. Through all of that, I've built strong skills in organization, communication, and self discipline.
