1. What are Aldi's core values and what makes it different from other supermarkets?

- Aldi's core values are the community, people, customers, suppliers and environment. - As part of this you provide a wide range of high-quality fruit and vegetables which has been recognised as the best in the industry for 4 years running. - Super 6 offer - every two weeks we pick 6 of our favourites and offer them at very low prices at no extra cost to the supplier. Helps to keep people healthy. As well as this, healthy eating on a budget can sometimes be difficult and has contributed to obesity especially childhood obesity. It is an example of Aldi's dedication to its customers. -The special buys are also a very important part of Aldi's identity which completely sets it apart from other supermarkets, and especially the fact they are online so are easily accessible.

What hours can you work?

- I am completely flexible and can work on holidays and weekends, evenings and I am always here to stay late or start early to help with shop demand as well as covering for employees who are ill. - I am free the whole summer with no holidays booked and so I can work throughout the school holidays.

What is your greatest strength?

- I believe my greatest strength is being able to be calm under pressure whether this be juggling multiple different tasks at busy time or dealing with complaints from customers. - Another of my strengths is a positive working attitude. I always strive to do my best at work and to go above and beyond in order to reach objectives. - Another strength of mine is my strong customer service ability. It is always important to give great customer service as this is what encourages customer loyalty

What is your favourite Aldi product?

- I especially love the beauty products at Aldi. I have the Lacura Bronzer which I use everyday and love. Its so similar to a much more expensive product at a much lower price. This is why I love Aldi as I cannot afford the more expensive product. As well as this I also love the candles that you sell, especially the Hotel Collection, No3 Pomegranate. It smells really good and has lasted for a long time.

Tell me how you would deal with a difficult customer

- I have had much experience with dealing with customer complaints from long waiting times working at a café through complaints about the overall transaction at the law firm I worked at. However, with any type of complaint the most important thing to do is to listen to the customer and try to calm them down. I would then try and empathises with them and try to understand their problem and come up with a solution, however, this would always be in line with my manager's expectations or company policy. Under no circumstances would I ever raise my voice or shout at a customer nor have I ever done this

What is your greatest weakness?

- I would have to say one of my weaknesses is that I often struggle to ask for help from other colleagues and try to figure out the solution to the problem when it would be more productive to ask a colleague for help. However, another of my strengths is that I am able to take on constructive feedback and implement in my working style so if you think I can improve my work then I will always be more than happy to listen and implement your suggestion.

What do you know about Aldi?

- It was started in 1913 by Anna Albrecht and taken over by her two sons Theo and Karl in 1948. - The Aldi idea of discount shopping is backed up years of innovation and good business such as letting customers buy good and pay on account during the Great Depression and later by being the only shop for miles to sell liquid handsoap which wasn't on ration. - In 1954 they opened the first self service store in Essen which was a first for Germany. - Aldi are still one of the innovative supermarkets even now, such as by reducing the variety of products on other and reducing the steps in the supply chain to deliver high quality products at low prices. - The innovative, customer-driven values of Aldi is why I would love to join your team.

Tell me about a time when I worked in a team.

- Jessie Smith's Farm Shop - used to get very busy at lunchtime and so I would work in a team with the other waitors. We each had our own roles to play, such as taking orders, working on the cashier, delivering food to tables or clearing up. I worked in all of these different roles at some point, however, my chief role was to take orders. When my role became less busy I would move on to helping others with their roles such as taking out the food or helping to clear up. Working as a team like this always ensured success for the café and the best service possible for the customers.

Tell me about a time you have delivered excellent customer service.

- Situation - Whilst working at the Organic Farm Shop Café a customer came into the café and was looking at the menu trying to decide what to get - Task - I was working at the front at the time so It was my task to greet them as they came in and take their order - Action - I asked them what kind of thing they were looking to eat and I told them which products they would most likely like the most - Result - the customers chose a meal and drink and on the way out thanked me for my recommendation and said that they thoroughly enjoyed the meal

Tell me about yourself

1. I am a highly motivated, approachable person with a passion for delivering the best customer service possible. I understand that as an employer you like to hire hard-working, who are self-sufficient in being able to problem-solve as well deliver excellent customer service. I believe I have the skills to become a successful stock assistant.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

I understand that this is a short-term role due to the current coronavirus pandemic, however, if there was any opportunity after my contract ends of continuing to work with you then I would readily take this up.

Why do you want to work for Aldi?

-Aldi has a great reputation as an employer, scoring 3rd in The Times Top 100 Graduate Employers. I would love to work for a company that is so highly regarded. You also highly value your relationship with suppliers such as by investing £200,000 into the Fairtrade Flowers Gender Empowerment Project which enables women to become leaders at work such as through mentorship. This is appealing to me as it shows that equal opportunities and a fair working environmental for all is part of your values. -Aldi's working environment is very appealing to me as it is very fast-paced. I love the challenge or a fast-paced environment and working to targets. It pushes me to always be my best and work hard to achieve store success. -Finally, I would like to apply to this store as I would be able to walk to work. The environment is very important to me and I understand you take your responsibility for it very seriously as well such as by 100% of the electricity you buy being generated by renewables. This alines with own principles on wanting to do my part for the environment.

What skills can you bring to the role from your previous job?

In my previous role at Laing Law I developed my initiative. I often took the initiative to figure out how to complete a task myself before asking for help. I also would complete things that needed to be done without having to be asked. I also often had to work under pressure to a deadline such as sending things out in the post or by email the same day so as to not slow down the transaction. At busy times I had to juggle the work of 3 different solicitors. I developed my organisational skills through prioritising the most urgent work first. I always managed to get everyone's work done and was always willing to stay later in order to fulfil this. This shows my organisation skills and flexibility as well as determination to complete tasks on time so as to not slow down the transaction. I often interacted with clients as I was on reception for my floor of 3 solicitors, greeting clients who came in for appointments or walk-ins. As well as this I often had to liaise with clients regarding the progress of their transaction or deal with complaints from clients in a calm manner.
