Cake Pans

A baking pan commonly found in every kitchen. Cake pans can be round, square, or rectangular and are available in several sizes. Probably the most popular is the 9 x 13 x 2 inch rectangular cake pan that is used to bake cakes, bars, and savory dishes, such as lasagna.

Loaf/Bread Pan

A bread pan, also called a loaf pan, is a kitchen utensil in the form of a container in which bread is baked. Its function is to shape bread while it is rising during baking. The most common shape of the bread pan is the loaf, or narrow rectangle, a convenient form which enables uniform slicing.

Colander/Strainer

A colander is a bowl-shaped kitchen utensil with holes in it used for draining food such as pasta or rice. The perforated nature of the colander allows liquid to drain through while retaining the solids inside. It is sometimes also called a pasta strainer or kitchen sieve.

Cutting Board

A cutting board is a durable board on which to place material for cutting. The kitchen cutting board is commonly used in preparing food; other types exist for cutting raw materials such as leather or plastic. Kitchen cutting boards are often made of wood or plastic and come in various widths and sizes.

Electric Mixer

A handheld electric mixer. A mixer is a kitchen utensil which uses a gear-driven mechanism to rotate a set of beaters in a bowl containing the food to be prepared. It automates the repetitive tasks of stirring, whisking or beating. When the beaters are replaced by a dough hook, a mixer may also be used to knead.

Bundt Pan/Tube Pan

A heavy-walled baking pan formed with a decorative indented curvature and a hollow tube in the center. The heavier walled construction allows cake batters to rise and bake more uniformly, while the improved heat conduction and hollow center tube enable the cake to bake evenly, creating a golden crust on the outside of the cake.

Pie Pan/Plate

A shallow metal or glass dish with sloping sides in which pies are baked. Pour one can of sweetened condensed milk (not evaporated milk) into a glass pie plate or shallow baking dish. Pour the granulated sugar into a pie pan or shallow bowl.

a pan with cylindrical indentations used for baking cupcakes or muffins.

Blender

a person or thing that mixes things together, in particular an electric mixing machine used in food preparation for liquefying, chopping, or pureeing.

a round cake pan with a removable bottom that is held in place by a sprung collar forming the sides.

Paring Knife

Vegetable Peeler

peeler (potato peeler or vegetable peeler) is a kitchen tool consisting of a slotted metal blade attached to a handle that is used to remove the outer skin or peel of certain vegetables, often potatoes and carrots, and fruits such as apples, pears, etc. A paring knife may also be used to peel vegetables.
