Major Oceans and Seas

Pacific Ocean

A body of salt water extending from the Antarctic region in the south to the Arctic in the north and lying between the continents of Asia and Australia on the west and North and South America on the east.

Arabian Sea

A body of water that lies between Arabia and India; the northwestern part of the Indian Ocean

Caribbean Sea

A sea bounded on the north and east by the West Indies, and by Central and South America on the west and south

Arctic Ocean

Bounded by Greenland, Canada, Alaska, Russia, and Norway. It is open to the Atlantic Ocean between Europe and Greenland, and is connected to the Pacific Ocean by Bering Strait between Alaska and Siberia.

Indian Ocean

It is bound on the north by Asia, including the country of India for which it's named, on the west by Africa, and on the east by Indonesia and Australia. It extends southward to the continent of Antarctica.

Hudson Bay

Located in Canada, with shoreline along Ontario, Quebec, Manitoba, and Nunavut

South China Sea

Located in the Pacific Ocean, south of China, northwest of the Philippines, east of Cambodia and Vietnam, and north of Borneo and the Bangka-Belitung Islands.

Atlantic Ocean

Separates the continents of Europe and Africa to the east from those of North and South America to the west

Andaman Sea

The body of water that shares a coast with Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia.

Bering Sea

The northward extension of the Pacific Ocean between Siberia and Alaska.

Mediterranean Sea

This body of Water separates Europe and Africa

Red Sea

This body of water separates the Arabian Peninsula from Africa.
