En "Mi caballo mago" el narrador y personaje cuenta una experiencia que le sucedió en su adolescencia con un caballo blanco, el cual llenó su juventud de fantasía y poesía. El caballo era la fascinación del pueblo y era incontrolable, imposible de domar. La primera vez que lo vio durante un verano sintió una "eternidad momentánea" o sea sólo duró un momento pero le cambió su vida. Al llegar el invierno lo vio de nuevo. Esta vez pudo enlazarlo y aunque se sintió mal lo hizo porque era su sueño desde que era niño y quería demostrar a los del pueblo y a su padre que era capaz de hacerlo. Al llegar a la casa el padre le dijo: "Estos son hombres". Entró el caballo al potrero y al día siguiente cuando se despertó, no encontraba el caballo por ningún lado. Vio que al otro lado de la cerca había huellas con gotas de sangre y se dio cuenta de que el caballo había encontrado la forma de escapar. Después de un rato, apareció su padre y le puso el brazo sobre el hombro y se quedaron viendo las huellas del caballo mago.
