Use Book if you have a lot of content you want to give a student from a single link. Think of it as alot of web pages bound together in a single link. It takes you to a table of contents and can navigate through it one page at a time.

Say you want to add a text page

Add a text page...type the name in the text box and the type of assignment in the second text box. then type the content in the third text box, then hit "save and return to course" You can copy and paste from other programs into Moodle.

Creating Moodle Course

All teacher Moodle sites are located in Portal. A teacher must log into portal and select the class or period from the drop down menu located at top of their portal homepage in which they want to create a site with content in it. After selecting the class or period click on the link in the midle of the page that says Online Course. Once you click on that link a new Moodle site will open and you may begin adding content. See sample below!! Please remember that Moodle sites are for teachers and students only. Parents do not have access to Moodle sites in Portal.

Creating an assignment

Hit "Turn Editing On" button at the top right. It will scroll down to topic two. Hit add a resource to see whats avaialble Click on insert a label. Add it to your course by using the "save and return to course" button. Then it will scroll down to topic two where you can see that it has been added to your course.
