When Whitney and Rainsford were on the yacht and the atmosphere around them was very dark and intimidating, it foreshadows because it adds suspense.

Whether hunting humans is "hunting" or "murder"; Rainsford was being hunted by Zaroff and Rainsford set up a few traps that harmed Zaroff and his crew; Rainsford kills Zaroff at the end of the story. Zaroff says he gets his "visitors" from Ship-Trap Island which has rocks that crush the boats and the people on them get sent to the island; Zaroff tells Rainsford he treats the "visitors" nice before he hunts them so he will have good competition; Zaroff also tells Rainsford if the "visitors" don't want to hunt, they can be tortured and killed by Ivan instead.
