Deployment methods for Microsoft 365 apps
Deploy with configuration manager (distribution point in office) Deploy from CLoud with Office Deployment Tool (OTD), downloads via terminal the office content delivery network (CDN). A configuration file is used to determine settings to apply. Deploy from a local source with the office deployment tool (OTD). OTD but the source is local from your network. Self-install from the cloud, users can install directly on client from office portal.

Deployment rings are deployment methods used to seperate devices into a deployment timeline. A common ring structure uses three deployment groups: Preview: Evaluate new features. Limited: Validate the feature on pilot devices. Broad: Deploy to rest of devices.
