-Found in epiphysis -Growth of length -Fuse in adulthood

-Hollow in center of diaphysis -Contains bone marrow
What is spongy bone?
-In epiphysis -NOT soft, light, hard
What is bone marrow?
-Yellow in cavity -High in fat -Red epiphysis high in rbc producing cells
What is periosteum?
-thin -membrane covering diaphysis -helps bone grow wider -attachment site for tendons

Longer than they are wide, they have a thin body (diaphysis), with two rounded extremities called the epiphysis.
