Concentration

A measurement of how much solute exists within a certain volume of solvent

Dilute

A solution that has a low concentration of solute. To add more solvent to a solution thus decreasing the solute concentration.

Dilution

Act of adding more solvent to a solution in order to decrease concentration of solute in the solution.

Concentrated

Describes a solution that has a relatively large amount of dissolved solute

Percent by Volume

the concentration of a solution expressed as the ratio between the volume of the solute and total volume of the solution

Molality

the concentration of a solution expressed in moles of solute per kilogram of solvent

Molarity

A common measure of solute concentration, referring to the number of moles of solute per liter of solution.

Percent by Mass

a percentage determined by the ratio of the mass of each element to the total mass of the compound
