Finklestein's test

-Testing for De Quervain's Disease. -Patient makes fist with thumb inside fingers. Examiner deviates wrist toward the unlar side. -Positive with pain over abductor pollicus longus and extensor pollicus previs, indicative of tenosiovitis between the two tendons.

Phalen's test

-Tests for carpal tunnel syndrome -Athlete flexes both wrists as far as possible and presses them together and hold for 1 min. -Positive if there is pain.

Tinel's Sign

-Tests for carpal tunnel syndrome. -Locate transverse carpal ligament and tap area with one finger. -Positive test will result in tingling or paresthesia over the thumb, index finger, middle finger, and lateral half of ring finger.

Allen's test

-To determine function of the radial and ulnar arteries supply in the hand. -Athlete squeezes the hand tightly in a fist and open fully 3 times. Trainer places firm pressure over each artery while athlete hold last fist. -Athlete opens hand, palm should be white and will become red when artery is realeased. -Positive if color doesn't come back

Valgus and Varus stress test

-testing ligaments connecting carpal bones to phalanges. - Push finger/wrist medially or laterally -Positive with pain or instability with the test.
